Oakdale, Poole
Permeable Block Paved Driveway, Poole
Cracked concrete replaced with a fully permeable block paved drive, rebuilt from the sub-base up.
Dorset · Our base
Poole is home. We are based here, we live here, and the majority of our work is within a few miles of the harbour.
That matters more than it sounds. A local builder turns up when a delivery is late, comes back a year later to look at something, and cannot afford to leave a bad job behind in the town where he does his shopping.
Much of Poole sits on Bagshot sands and heathland gravels, which are generally straightforward to found on, but the low-lying ground around the harbour edge and Holes Bay brings a high water table and, in places, made ground. We dig trial holes early on anything close to the water rather than discovering the problem at foundation stage.
The Old Town, Poole Quay and parts of Parkstone and Lilliput sit within conservation areas, where materials and detailing are scrutinised. We are used to working to those constraints and to BCP Council building control.
Anything facing the water at Sandbanks, Lilliput or Hamworthy takes salt-laden wind year round. It changes what mortar mix, what brick and what ironmongery is sensible, and we specify accordingly rather than using the same detail we would inland.

Straight answers
Yes. Poole is our home town – we are based here. We cover Poole Old Town, Parkstone, Lilliput, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Branksome and the surrounding villages, across the BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15, BH16, BH17 postcodes.
It depends entirely on the job, and anyone who quotes you a figure over the phone without seeing the property is guessing. What we can tell you is that our quotes are free, written, itemised, and state plainly what is excluded. We visit, measure, and send you a price you can actually compare against someone else's.
Building regulations for Poole go through BCP Council. We deal with the notices, book the inspections and get the completion certificate as a matter of routine – it is included in what we do rather than left to you.
Small works can often be fitted in within a few weeks. Extensions, renovations and new builds are typically booked several months ahead, particularly through spring and summer. Ring and ask – we will give you a realistic date rather than the one you would like to hear.

PLACEHOLDER – Steve and the team built our rear extension over the winter and we never once felt out of the loop. The brickwork match to the original 1930s house is genuinely seamless; visitors assume it was always there.
PLACEHOLDER – We had three quotes for repointing and Steve was the only one who explained why our house needed lime rather than cement. Two years on the walls are dry and the brickwork looks a hundred years younger.
PLACEHOLDER – Our retaining wall had been leaning for years and two builders wouldn't touch it. S E Barrett & Son took it down, sorted the drainage properly and rebuilt it. Straight, dry and solid.
