Most of our work is within about ten miles of home. For a job worth doing we will travel up to 40 miles – west as far as Bridport and Weymouth, east to Southampton and Lymington, north to Salisbury and Sherborne.
How far is too far?
Distance costs time, and time on the road is time not spent building. So the honest answer is that it depends on the job.
Anything within about fifteen miles of Poole – Bournemouth, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ferndown, Wareham, Blandford – we treat as home turf and we will happily quote for work of any size.
Further out, up to the 40 mile limit, we take on work that is substantial enough to run as a continuous block rather than scattered visits. If your job is small and you are forty miles away, we will tell you plainly that a local builder will serve you better – and we would rather say that than take the money.
